THE BRIGHT SIDE
Like many people, organizations, and businesses the ‘Never Say Never’ playland has faced many challenges during the pandemic.
This hasn’t stopped supporters from being positive and moving forward. The playland is a 13,000-square-foot all-inclusive playground that has been approved for the middle of Veteran’s Park in Lake Geneva. It’s a big project that requires a big check. The goal is to raise $610,000 to be able to purchase the equipment and start building. Then it will take about 2,000 volunteers (over the course of seven days) to build.
The inspiration comes from the fact that all kids need to play, families need to come together and everyone else possibly share in the kid’s development. So far, the organization has raised $283,000, including $43,000 from the Mr. Lake Geneva Pageant. The pageant was recently hosted by Lakes Area Lifeway and featured ten well-known men in the Lake Geneva community. A Wine Walk in downtown Lake Geneva was also held with proceeds benefiting the Never Say Never Playland.
While there is still a long way to go, the board members of the playland project are optimistic and excited about the current positive momentum they are experiencing, with respect to completing the construction.
