THE BRIGHT SIDE
The Lake Geneva Women’s Association began as an extension of the Lake Geneva Jaycees and were known as the Jaycettes.
Since their origination they have evolved into the Women’s Association but the mission to serve and give back to the community remains the same. Currently, they are accepting applications for all Walworth County kids entering 5K kindergarten. The classes will be held June 6th through June 9th at the Lake Geneva Middle School. The classes will focus on all things’ safety including the school bus, cars, bikes, playground, and so much more. Kids will practice their address, learn emergency numbers, and even take a trip to the Lake Geneva Fire Department.
This is a great way to reinforce what is already being taught at home and gives kids a little more confidence heading into school. The morning classes are from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and afternoon classes are from 12:45 p.m. through 3:45p.m. There is a fee of $40 per child, which helps the Women’s Association cover expenses including snacks, supplies, and the Safety Town T-shirts. Applications are also being accepted for students in 6th through 12th grade who want to help and be instructor aids. The four hundred home development by Shodeen in Town of Walworth.
Approval is still not forthcoming by either the local town board in Walworth or by the County of Walworth. “Shodden” gets one more shot at gaining approval if it can come back with an abridged plan that the board might find more acceptable. Will Shodeen show up to makes such a plea?
The staff of the GSR believes so. This developer is well known for allegedly playing the game of setting up the authorities and getting disapprovals while preparing for the ‘real’ submission to follow and gain approval when the locals give approval in relief.
