THE BRIGHT SIDE

Lake Geneva Jaycees FREE sandbox fill!
Saturday, May 13th, the LG Jaycees will be going around pre-registered households in Lake Geneva, filling up sandboxes. This annual event is free, and all the families and the children of these families really appreciate it. The Jaycees, along with their generous sponsors Westside Landscape Products INC., are happy to provide this service. If you are interested in getting sand, go to Lake Geneva Jaycees Free Sandbox Fill on Facebook and fill out the attached Google form with your information. The cutoff date to get registered is May 5th, so get your spot confirmed and register.

The road construction is going on along Wrigley Drive.
The final paving may actually be started by the time you read this article.  Once it was revealed that the project had cancelled the curbs and storm grate portion, all of a sudden construction was delayed to allow for curb and storm grate work.  This returned portion of the project appears to be done so paving of the street should happen by Friday of this week, if he collected workers drinking beers at Speedos after a tough day are to be believed.

This bright side comment is only bright when it comes to the emission of light.
The Richmond refinery, not findable on MapQuest, Google, or any of the others because of recent terroristic security concerns, is truly findable once or twice a year when it vents or flares its excess natural gas (a byproduct of the refinery process deemed to be of ‘no value’) a couple of times a year.  The last flare was ignited atop a pipe that giant pipe that protrudes about four to five hundred feet into the air.  This vented gas was released and then ignited, to burn for about an hour and a half, from about 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.  The company will not release how much gas was burned off.  The event was something to behold.  Anyone closer than a mile, and the pipe is located about four hundred yards from Highway Twelve as it begins winding its way through Richmond, Il from the north, needed earmuffs to have no hearing damage from the blasting furnace sound and vibrating atmospheric conditions existing when the flare burned.  For that hour and a half, approximately 3 billion cubic feet of natural gas was vented and burned.  Anyone standing about a mile away from the continuous blast could hold out hands and feel the heat generated, even at that distance.  That amount of natural gas being burned in such a short period of time puts about 3 trillion BTUs of heat into the air.  That, incidentally, is about as much gas as it would take to power all of Madison, Wisconsin for a month.

The heat and residue from the flare went straight up into the stratosphere and beyond.  This country is concerned about not only waste and the effect of home gas stoves and heaters and this kind of irresponsible and downright criminal (if such natural crimes were in the books or enforced, and they are not) behavior is being ignored?  What the hell is going on.  And, get this, the United States alone has over 6,600 flares like this being ignited at different times and dates of the year, with over 1700 more worldwide.  Light your gas stove at home and laugh out loud.

The general public isn’t killing the environment nor is it causing global warming.  This is all being done by billionaires while being covered up and supported by the paid for government and media. If you don’t believe this, then why are you reading about it in this little bitty newspaper and not watching it on your television?  Go to the Internet.  Do your own research.  Be shocked.
