THE BRIGHT SIDE
Geneva Lakes Museum 2025 Parade of Trees.
The Geneva Lakes Museum has been hosting this wonderful community event annually and is in its 7th year. The parade of trees is a festive way of bringing the community together during the holidays. Over forty different trees will adorn both sides of the old Main Street in the center of the museum. The trees are to be decorated ahead of time and ready for opening night.
There will be a tree lighting ceremony, and it will be open to the public from November 22, 2025, through January 5, 2026. Viewing the creative and beautifully decorated trees has become a family and community tradition. Of course, every tree is unique and different, and everyone who sponsors a tree thinks it’s the best, so as always, there will be a friendly competition, and all guests are encouraged to vote. The staff and supporters of the museum invite everyone to come for the trees and stay for the history.
Tim Dunn, a Lake Geneva legend, passed, surrounded by his family and friends.
He is a Lake Geneva native, graduated from Badger, and settled into life in Lake Geneva after college to help run the family business. He dedicated his professional life to helping run the family business, Dunn Lumber and True Value Hardware. Education was also an important aspect of Tim’s life, graduating from Badger High School in 1966 and then attending college. His thirst for knowledge never stopped, and he was often regarded as a walking encyclopedia.
Tim served as a docent at the Geneva Lakes Museum and served as an Alderman for the 3rd District. He took pride in his work as an alderman and always did what he thought was best for the residents and community. He took joy in supporting the museum and all things Lake Geneva. He had a way of getting his point across without being harsh or controversial. Tim was well respected and will be deeply missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and community. The bright side remains with us all, those of us who truly valued the kind, gentle man he was and the way he conducted himself for everyone he met or associated with in and around the Geneva Lake.
