More development near Edwards Boulevard and Townline Road is coming.
The ongoing development of Symphony Bay has caused a drastic increase in traffic along these roadways. Residents of Lake Geneva and the Symphony Bay neighborhood are demanding the building stop. Just across the road from this large development, another large development is looking for approval. Not only is it overly developed and congested in this area, but traffic safety is also a serious concern. The push from citizens and city officials for a traffic signal has been consistent.
With any more development, the need should be great enough to get the job done immediately. Continential Properties submitted a concept review which is an informal presentation before any rezoning request is made and before a general development application is placed. The property being discussed is located at the corner of Edwards Boulevard and Townline Road. The applicant is proposing a thirty-six-unit multi-family building, eight twenty-unit multi-family buildings, six two-family buildings, three three-unit buildings, and eleven single-family units. There is also a clubhouse to be built as a part of the expansion.
The development will be adding a total of two hundred and twenty-eight units. There is no question that the nearby residents have good cause to be trying to stop this addition based on traffic and safety issues alone.
