THE BRIGHT SIDE

The Lake Geneva High School Badger Homecoming Parade to be held on Friday, October 7th, at 4:45 p.m.
The parade line up will stage and start on Marshall Street and will run south down Williams and Broad Street, where it will turn onto Wisconsin Street before ending at Central Denison school. The route is a little different, in order to accommodate the Oktoberfest activities already scheduled. The parade will include the Badger High School’s Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Big Fish Cast, and many fun and exciting floats. Badger students will be celebrating homecoming week with daily dress up themes and other fun activities. Monday night everyone enjoyed a movie in the gym, Tuesday was the Boys Powderpuff Volleyball game, Wednesday will be the Girls Powderpuff game, which starts at 6 p.m.  Float building continues Thursday, and Friday is the big day with the parade at 4:45 p.m. and the homecoming football game at 7 p.m. The entire week is dedicated to supporting and highlighting the Badger High School sports teams that are doing great this year, especially the football team with its terrific won/loss ratio. Go Badgers!

Progress is being made as the downtown of Lake Geneva prepares for the coming of murals.
Both readings of the new ordinance allowing the murals to be put on the businesses have been read and passed at the city council level. A committee of Business Improvement District committee members, a VISIT representative, real estate owners, professional artists, and business owners have been formed and meeting to decide where the murals will go and what they will have as artwork. This august group are looking for historic or classic Lake Geneva themed artwork. After the new ad hoc committee approves the mural, it will be sent to the City of Lake Geneva for their approval. This has been a long process, but the BID has stuck with it and is excited to bring a more cultural and artistic experience for visitors. Things are progressing nicely, and we look forward to seeing the pick for the very first mural allowed in Downtown Lake Geneva making history.
