SURPRISING STUFF
This summer, the Lake Geneva Cruise Line is adding a new boat to its 150-year-old fleet.
The cruise line has been a staple of Geneva Lakes summer fun. Visitors and locals make a point of enjoying the season on the lake with one of the beautiful boats with wonderful cruises. The Lake Geneva Cruise Line is asking guests and community members to enter suggestions for names of the new vessel.
The first 75 people to submit entries will be invited to the boat launch event for its maiden voyage this summer. For more information on the new boat and to submit your entry, go to https://bit/4ubWunO before May 15th.
Auto repair insurance coverage.
Stop it.
Engage your brain.
Endurance, Car Shield, and other auto repair insurance companies’ policy deals that consumers see on vastly expensive television ads are a waste of money, big time. The ads show people being paid up to 50 thousand dollars for replacement engines and transmissions. The coverage will cost about fifteen hundred a month. These companies have a history of paying out less than twelve percent of the premiums in claims.
Do the math. That means the companies have less than 200 bucks on hand to pay each claim received per customer. Not all customers will have claims, although the Better Business Bureau estimates that over fifty percent of policyholders file claims at least once a year. These companies, and the rest, have suffered losses in lawsuits across the nation, but their profits, even after huge advertising costs, remain very high (alleged to be over fifty percent of premiums collected). It’s legal, so don’t go there.
No ads have to be true on U.S. television by law; they simply can’t be lies about products that harm you physically, not financially, which is why most healthy food medicines, creams, and pills are made of placebo materials. You get no benefit, but you don’t get hurt either, except in the pocketbook.
