The Abbey Resort in Fontana launched a revamped menu for its signature lakeside venue, Waterfront, alongside a comprehensive indoor and outdoor dining renovation.
The Waterfront now includes classic lakeside comfort food, barbecue favorites, and vibrant shareable plates. New menu items inspired by the location along the waterfront of Geneva Lake bring back favorites like bratwurst and a Wisconsin Old Fashioned, and add new flavors like jerk chicken nachos and a fruity, refreshing Fontana Breeze cocktail. Raspberry Wave Martini, chicken Caesar salad wrap, and beer-braised bratwurst are just a few of the items on the updated Waterfront menu.
One big change on the menu was to add more shareables. Shrimp tempura and Wisconsin soft pretzel join the cheese curds, a staple. The shareable jerk chicken nachos are a must-have. House-made thin, crispy tortilla chips are topped with pinto beans, cheeses, jalapeños, tomatoes, a creamy, refreshing cilantro cream, and shredded jerk chicken. One of the Jamaican employees contributed her own jerk recipe from home for the dish. Fridays are a local Wisconsin favorite featuring fried local white fish, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a choice of potato pancakes or fries.
A fully updated layout boasts a new stage, upgraded outdoor decks, fire tables, and panoramic harbor views. The updated bar offers ample seating for gathering over handcrafted cocktails, local beers, and recently added house wines, made exclusively for The Abbey Resort and featuring the famous A-frame on the label. The patio is the spot for lunch or dinner outdoors. Remember to save a little room to try the Funfetti cake dessert at Waterfront. You will be happy you did.
