The Walworth County Fair used to be the largest county fair in the country, and it is still the largest county fair in Wisconsin. The many, many vendors look forward to this venue all year, as much as the patrons of the fair look forward to their arrival. The huge grandstand, and the park stage, will have a variety of live entertainment all week long. The barns will be filled with 4-H members, their prize livestock, and other barnyard animals. There will also be a plethora of food vendors providing whatever your taste buds might desire. Of course, the rides and games are bound to be a huge hit for the younger crowds, as well as adventurous adults. The 168th annual Walworth County Fair guarantees to be full of big fun around every corner and down every aisle. Are you ready for BIG FUN?

The new Lake Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, is now called Visit Lake Geneva.
Ed Svitak, lake GenevaThis morphed travesty of an organization is finally beginning to recover and thrust itself back into the forefront of small business development around Geneva Lake again. How is it going to do that? By bringing aboard a new seasoned director who’s been an award winning executive in sales and marketing for many years. His name is Ed Svitak and he’s a hard charging pro. Ed is almost always totally booked up when it comes to getting an appointment with him in the short term, however, he’s visiting with anyone and everyone who wants to see or talk to him, so if you call his number
(262-248-1000), he’ll eventually get to you. The GSR is very excited about visiting with Ed and seeing if he’s the “real deal” on Friday of this very week. There may be some hope and light at the end of this long, winding and a bit agonizing tunnel.

Moonlight Movie on the Beach! To celebrate summer coming to an end, and just before the parade and official celebration of Labor Day on the 4th of September, there will be a movie shown for all to enjoy together on Lake Geneva’s downtown Riviera beach.   The movie will start at eight p.m. and will run of the very popular motion picture called Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. Grab a lawn chair, blanket and maybe some bug spray, and come on down. It’s supposed to be partly cloudy, with a predicted temperature of 52 degrees. So, wear a sweater, or hoody, but come on down.
