Little Gems

Night time hike.
There is a Candlelight Hike at Bigfoot Beach State Park this Saturday, February 16th, from 6-8pm. Bring your family and friends (or make it romantic and bring your Valentine) for an evening walk through the woods, illuminated solely by candles and the stars. There will a bonfire to warm up by, along with hot chocolate and S’mores.

The winter storms are relentless this year. Monday night came and went, leaving between six and ten inches of snow throughout the Geneva Lake region. As of the writing of this issue of the Geneva Shore Report, on Tuesday morning, the forecast is for even more snow.   Can Wisconsin natives handle another hit? Easily, but not without growing discomfort and downright anger, most likely. So many people have left for Florida this season that most residential developments around the lake look like dark cemeteries when the day is past.

Sky Circus on Ice

Happening this weekend!
Sky Circus on Ice at the Lake Lawn Resort is back and will offer great family fun all weekend long. This free public event starts Friday, February 15th, and goes through Sunday, February 17th. The Sky Circus presents some of the most beautiful and unique kites you have ever seen. And they will be flown by some of the greatest kite performers in the world. It is a spectacular show! There will also be ice carvings and snow sculptures at Lake Lawn, and in downtown Delavan. If you are inspired to fly a kite you will get that chance, and you can purchase or make your own kite right there at the Sky Circus. The weather should be fairly nice for the weekend, but if you need to warm up there will be warming stations and concessions, all definitely worth checking out.

The Cocoa Crawl.
This event had a record-breaking year and the votes are in! Kilwin’s was the grand champion with their classic hot chocolate drink. It was a very close race with Liliypots coming in second, and The Cornerstone Shop & Gallery coming in third, both for their yummy cocoa. If you didn’t get a chance to try all the yummy treats this year then you’ll have to wait for next year’s crawl, and then make sure you vote for your favorite treat!
