Heart and Soul. This little place is opening up at 262 Center Street, not far from the Geneva Java Coffee Shop, at 252 Broad Street. Unlike the coffee shop, it will be offering customers ice cream and desert delights instead of regular meals and coffee. The decorating of the place is underway and it looks like it’s going to be another one of those upscale outfits, similar to some of the new operations moving to Lake Geneva. More Carmel, California rather than back alley Hong Kong. Look for the new place to open in late August. The couple that owns the business seem pretty neat. They are doing the build in personally, and are going to operate it personally, as well. Stop by while they’re doing the build in and say hello. You ‘ll be most welcome.

Board and Brush is moving. Long-time tenants of the same building as the Geneva Java Coffee Shop (252 Center Street), Board and Brush is moving next door to gain more space and a higher ceiling.   This class act operation, where people go to do woodwork and make yard signs and other handmade stuff, is extremely popular. They provide materials for the woodworking, as well as the wine and beer, which makes for an unlikely but very attractive mix when you see it all work together.

Success in Elkhorn

Last weekend the big RibFest in Elkhorn at the fairgrounds was a blow away success. Congrats to LD’s BBQ from East Troy winning the People’s Choice Award!
