Little Gems

Brush pick-up has started and will continue, through May 28th at 6 a.m.
Brush, leaves, garden waste, and weeds must be in the gutter on the edge of any curb, sidewalk, or terrace by Monday morning. Items will be picked up sometime during the week. Grass clippings are never picked up and must be brought to the street department at 1065 Carey Street. If you bring waste in bags please dump the waste and take the bags with you. In order to better facilitate pickup by the chipper truck, all brush must be no more than 6’ in length and 6” in diameter. Do not put brush in or on top of leaves but keep in separate piles. If these conditions are not met material will not be picked up.

Highway 67/Lincoln Street in Elkhorn to close long-term starting March 29th.
The bridge will be closed at I-43 for approximately 60 days.  That’s an approximation made by the DMV and given to Loves’s Travel Station. The construction work will begin on 16 miles of I-43 from Highway 12, in Elkhorn, to the Rock County line.   The interstate will remain open to traffic during construction, and single-lane closures in each direction will be staggered and limited to four miles in length. Long-term alternating ramp closures will be needed to allow for bridge deck replacements starting with the ramps on Highway 67. There could possibly be a few sporadic overnight full freeway closures for storm sewer/culvert crossing repairs. As always, use caution when traveling through a work zone.
