Little Gems

Lake Geneva Farmers Market.
It’s that time again, tomorrow the Lake Geneva Farmers Market begins!
Every Thursday now through Halloween from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m. on Broad Street, the sidewalk, alleyway, and inside the Horticultural Hall, will be full of activity, with all the great vendors and patrons that gather every year for the Farmers Market. Lake Geneva is blessed with one of the best Farmers Markets around.

The Magic continues!
Tristan Crist Magic Theater, on Sage Street, is just about ready to move the show to a new theater on Edwards Boulevard. The construction of the new theater is in the final phase of the project. The move is tentatively scheduled to take place at the beginning of June. The new theater will have a larger parking lot, a bigger lobby, three times more seating than the current theater, and the stage will allow new illusions on a much grander scale.

New and old businesses downtown.
Cook Street is booming with new business. Summer Made has made a home in Lake Geneva. Summer Made is a fresh bright home décor and gift shop and a wonderful addition to the area. Right next door was the Magic Morgan Theater, which left very recently, and as sad as it is to see them go, it is exciting to welcome another new shop.  Another new business is Wild Yonder. Wild Yonder is a bath and body boutique focusing on essential oils. Among their specialties is The Grateful Dead’s line which they are licensed to sell.

Cinco De Mayo.
In English, Cinco de Mayo translates to the fifth of May. This date was originally observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla. It has become more than that in America, however. It is now a day to celebrate the Mexican heritage of many citizens. This weekend will be Cinco de Mayo. A local Celebration will take place in Delavan, on the north side of Walworth Avenue at the water tower site. The weekend will be filled with a variety of traditional Mexican foods and desserts, music, entertainment, and several different market vendors. The fun will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. and run until 8 p.m., and again on Sunday 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
