The Zombie Run.
It is that time of year when there is a chill in the air and zombie runs, and Spooktacular events, are taking place back and forth across this great nation. This Saturday, October 6th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Friends of Big Foot Beach will be hosting a 5K trail run through BigFoot Beach State Park. It’s not often you see zombies run, usually making their flesh strew, and eating humans with a slow stiff-legged, sluggish, moaning gait. But not at BigFoot Beach for this event! Dress up (or down) in your best zombie costume and come out to be either a participant or spectator. Do this to help support Big Foot Beach State Park. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go directly back to the park. Tickets are $32.00 each, and all participants will receive a raffle ticket, as well. Stick around for awards and prizes for raffles and first place female and male costumes to be announced later in the evening. For more information, details, and registration go to Lake Geneva Zombie Run on Facebook.
The fall fun begins this weekend with Lake Geneva’s Annual Oktoberfest. The event is organized by the Streets of Lake Geneva, and those people do a great job. There is something for everyone. The 200 block of Broad Street will be blocked, and Flat Iron Park will also be closed to normal activity, so they can be utilized for the festivities. There will be great food, including delicious apple cider donuts. There will be tons for the kids to do, with bouncy houses and pony rides, while adults can enjoy the shopping, craft fair, live entertainment, and (of course) the beer tent. At some point, there will be a “tough guy” stein holding competition. There is so much more to see and do at Oktoberfest that you just have to come out and see the whole thing for yourself. The fun begins Saturday, October 6th at 11 a.m., and goes until 5 p.m. The same hours hold true on Sunday, October 7th.
