LIVING HERE

When it rains, it pours.
Heavy rain poured through the roof of American Family Field on Wednesday night during a night of severe storms. The leaks followed a tornado warning during the series opener on Tuesday, making for a wild week of weather for baseball fans. Water came down throughout the ballpark, pooling in the outfield and flooding the club level. Water was also pooling on the field. Brewers Boulevard – a major thoroughfare that handles a high volume of departing stadium traffic – was essentially underwater in the moments after the game, with cars stranded after attempting to pass.

The stadium was built with North America’s only radial, retractable roof, the signature feature of the structure that opened in March of 2001. The design of the roof, with large movable panels converging from either side, wasn’t designed to be air-tight or watertight. As a result, heavy rain and high winds can send water down on the playing field or into the seats. Some fans had been displaced from their seats after rain had come through the leaks in the roof here at American Family Field. Fans reported little to no communication from stadium officials during either night of severe weather.

What about this GLP-1 medication used for weight loss now?
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is a natural gut hormone that the human body releases after eating. Some medications mimic its effects, such as semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound). What about the side effects few people who want to get the shots talk about, or maybe are not even informed about?

GLP-1 medications can cause rather dangerous or at least extremely uncomfortable side effects. Examples include nausea and vomiting, bloating, and bowel changes like diarrhea and constipation. While rare, pancreatitis and gallbladder problems have been linked to GLP-1s and worsening cases of diabetes. Does it work to reduce weight?

Absolutely, the Botox gets rid of wrinkles, too, although nobody wants to talk about the number of faces of older people that have basically fallen off due to long-term injections. Be very cautious with these new drugs because, for right now, you are the test lab rats. And then there are the phony drugs advertised on television that simply do not work at all.  Prevagen, Nirvina, One a Day Multiple Vitamins, all placebo effect drugs.  Don’t bother with them at all unless you like taking compacted cardboard or other non-systemic stuff.
