The new coming stop sign at the corner of Broad and Geneva Streets. Everybody is now waiting. The old “homemade” signs and street painted lines are going away and a brand new set of regular stop signs and safety bars are being installed at this intersection. Everyone is waiting with a smile for the street department to deliver. The roundabouts up by Highway 12 will be the next new additions to improving Lake Geneva road access and safety.
Updates to Highway 120 construction nightmare.
As part of the Highway 120 reconstruction project, on July 3rd, crews will be reopening the adjacent Highway 12 interchange ramps. The ramp closures were necessary to construct the first phase of the new roundabouts at the ramp terminals. During this phase of the project, motorists will encounter a three-way-stop controlled intersection along Highway 120 at both ramp connections. The current traffic configuration will still maintain access along Highway 120. Both directions of traffic will utilize the southbound lanes, while the new northbound lanes are constructed. For the future: On July 16, Highway 120 is scheduled to close from Madaus Road to Como Creek to allow for bridge replacement work. The closure is scheduled to be in place until early fall. Access to nearby businesses and residences will be maintained. For those looking to get around the bridge closure, a signed detour can be followed along Highway 12, I-43 and Highway 11.
