Living Here

Maple Fest.
Covenant Harbor is hosting Maple Fest again. The workers at Maple Fest are tapping the maple trees, collecting the sap and then processing it. On March 18, 2018, they will be serving a giant ‘all you can eat’ breakfast from seven-thirty a.m. until three p.m. There will be helicopter rides, rock climbing walls, paintball games and face painting. And much more. This event goes on all day on Sunday. Come and have a wonderful time.

Amsoil Championship Snocross at Grand Geneva.
The dates for this out at the resort are from March 16th through the18th. These races are truly amazing and exciting, as exuberant riders of over-powered, and valiantly-driven, snowmobiles vie for championship prizes. Everything is up close, personal and very loud, so expect a lot of hubbubs. Everything starts at 1:00 p.m. on the 16th.

The Governor’s Tourism Awards.
Michael Kocourek is being awarded the “Rising Star” of Wisconsin Tourism, as this issue of the Geneva Shore Report goes to press. This award is given to those who demonstrate outstanding merit in building the tourism for the state in a qualitative way. Mike was one of nine others to be awarded this prize by the governor, but he was the only recipient not somehow a part of or related to, a chamber of commerce. Joe Tominaro, the outstanding salesman, and videographer of Visit Lake Geneva (and a great guy) was also a recipient of this award. The ceremony was held in Appleton on Wednesday.
