THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE

The mass media, that group of large purveyors of information across the country, from television news to newspapers and more, is no longer cowering in fear while raking in the cash. Trump was able to terrify the media as no president has ever done before but by simply taking a back seat to most of his lying and worse, they faced right into the stream and ran with the current. They made billions doing it. Note that they struggle today without him. The news is about some little creepy congressman from Florida who’s diddling kids and prostitutes, with a bit of the new infrastructure stuff, an occasional Ted Cruz or Ron Johnson comment…and junk like that. No real headlines.

Biden is not that kind of player, although it is beginning to look like his legacy is going to be huge. If he can hold the 50/50 senate together enough to pass the infrastructure bill, then life changes in the nation. Even lead-in-the-water republicans will have a hard time dealing with all the industry that is going to spring up and remake the crumbling image of a country nearly sold out to high technology moguls who have become like product sales billionaires instead of people who actually do anything. Amazon is a mail order online Walmart. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are advertising agencies disguised as modern chat rooms. Tesla and SpaceX are about the only real hope of advancement on the horizon, or at least they were until the infrastructure plan came along. More trains, better highways, bridges and so much more. There is hope on the horizon and a real light at the end of this virus-formed tunnel. Virus and billionaire formed that is. The day the country stops seeing billionaires as humans to be admired…well, that’ll be a great day. Billionaires don’t like regular people and regular people need to repay that favor…in spades. The news media has to return to being the cutting edge of helping educate and keep the public apprised of what’s really going on. These media outlets are searching around and scrambling for positioning, now that Trump is moldering away on the sidelines of both politics and life, and they don’t have to fear him anymore. Things are better today and getting better every day and it’s been some time since I could write that.

The celebration in Christianity of the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his death on the cross. A different kind of time this year, as the virus is being beaten down, the economy struggles to come back and social relationships begin to show, as the summer nears, just how much ‘honesty’ and excuses the virus affliction offered to many people. Relationships that were once tolerated could be severed, with the greatest of health reasons. People could be distanced for various virus-related reasons while other people, who were not to be distanced, were kept in the circle. Many people found that their social circle was not much of a social circle at all. It was a threaded fabric, and that fabric was held together by relationship threads that were a whole lot more frayed and weaker than so many thought. Now, the virus will recede, the economy will be back, travel will surge upward, vacations will be taken, and life will begin to resemble the normality most assumed it was before that momentous day back in early 2020 when all this started.

This time of recovery, socially, is going to be more painful and potentially deadlier than the effects of the virus or even the economic nightmare. We live in more interesting times than we think, and we are a whole lot more alone than we thought. those‘truths’ that were not revealed as such because of the handy virus excuse, will now come home to rest upon the deceptive fabric of our entire culture, and there’s going to be a whole lot of unpredictable pain and hell to pay.

The ‘fabric’ I mention in discussing is the existence of related social ties, which will be found to have been made of the finest of silk, and not the tough fiber of wool or cotton. The ‘skirt’ of life is about to be lifted, and the silk will be undeniably and unavoidably observed to have permanent runs that can never be fixed, healed, or hidden on into the future.
