Biggest Loser Competition Explained
As winter sets in and the cold weather begins to freeze some of the local bodies of water, safety needs to be considered.
Geneva Lake is obviously still completely open water but many of the smaller shallower waters are starting to have the appearance of being frozen over. Just because it looks iced over it may not be safe and precautions need to be taken. You can never be completely guaranteed that ice is safe, but one thing is certain there have not been enough days of consistent temperatures at or below freezing. The inlet of Delavan Lake has already had a handful of ice fisherman this winter. Lake Como is another lake you can find ice fisherman on early in the season The Maytag Ponds are one of those bodies of water that freezes early. While it be may tempting to set out please remember, the need is to have at least 4 inches of solid ice to walk, and at least 5 for a snowmobile. Stay away from ice that is cracked. Have a plan in case of falling in.
