This measure was put on the agenda to move the Finance License Regulation Meeting to Monday at 6 p.m., instead of Tuesday (as currently changed by Blaine, the former city administrator) failed on a tie broken by Mayor Tom Hartz. Voting “no” were: Howell, Halverson, Straube, and Dunn). Any hope of rationality prevailing from Selena Proksa proved more than elusive, as she voted with the pack. The ridiculous arrangement where the finance committee will continue to meet long after every council session is the rule of the day. The finance committee will also meet in a room where there is no recording equipment, so the secret form of the monetary rule can be rumored along.

Person of the Week

Jim Steel, also known as: “The Man of Steel, “ is a great guy who loves people and is a big fan of Lake Geneva. He can be spotted around town performing his assortment of jobs. He works at the Avant Coffee and Bike Shop, and then a few days a month at the Lake Geneva Target. During the summer season, he works for the Lake Geneva Parking Department.
