It’s a great time for the Lake Geneva Ghost Walks tour.
The Lake Geneva Ghost Walks is a 90- to 120-minute guided haunted history tour through downtown Lake Geneva. Creepy old mansions with echoing halls and dusty relics. The weird happenings at Otto Young’s 100-room Stone Manor. These beautiful homes and buildings are really something else, and your guide focuses on the haunted history of places such as the Maxwell Mansion, the Baker House, and the eponymous lake itself.
The tour will start at the gazebo in Seminary Park at the corner of Baker Street and Lake Shore Drive. The route includes Seminary Park, Lake Geneva Public Beach (home to local monster lore), and a 15-minute stop inside the historic Maxwell Mansion Hotel and more. You will hear Real local ghost stories and paranormal encounters. Native American folklore and lake legends. Spooky histories are tied to landmarks like the Baker House and downtown Victorian buildings. While this tour uncovers some of the darker secrets of this resort town, you’ll also learn more about the indigenous people who first lived here and hear about famous residents such as the Wrigley, Sears, Maytag, and Schwinn families, who once spent their summers here. On this Lake Geneva ghost walk, you’ll find out that there’s plenty of strangeness right downtown.
Road work is not over yet.
Crews are still finishing up the Interchange North and Williams Street project. Originally, the construction was expected to conclude mid-August; now it’s looking to be closer to mid-September. The next project on the list is scheduled to start in early September through early October. Cook Street is going to be reconstructed from Main Street to Geneva Street, including the alley west of the block. Before summer is over, crews will also be at various locations around Lake Geneva for asphalt patching and crack filling.
