Many schools around the nation are planning and practicing for the “what ifs.”
This does not exclude local schools in the area. Last week, Thursday, February 22nd, East View Elementary (on Sage Street in Lake Geneva) had a bit of a scary situation, which became a learning situation. Thursday afternoon a 911 call was made, due to a suspicious male walking around, and on the school property. The school was put on a soft lockdown, which means no one enters or leaves the building until it is considered safe, and until the all clear is given. The suspicious male was apprehended and taken into custody. He was found to be no threat but was rather intoxicated. From start to finish the entire situation lasted about two hours.
