The Milwaukee Brewers.
Among MLB fans, the saying goes that you should avoid checking the standings until Memorial Day because by that point, teams have finally played enough games through two months to add meaning to what we’re seeing play out in every division. Milwaukee leads the NL Central thanks to a full-team effort. First-Place Milwaukee Brewers Also Have MLB’s Top Prospect, Jesus Made. He’s so good, he may just become the Milwaukee Brewers’ shortstop this year at age 19. Made immediately proved his worth, batting .331 with more walks than strikeouts in his first 51 pro games. The Brewers measured him making contact on 89% of his swings with a low 14.6% chase rate (swinging at pitches outside the strike zone).

Jacob Misiorowski matched a career high with 12 strikeouts and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 on Monday. Christian Yelich hit a two-run homer, and Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-4 as the Brewers extended their NL Central lead over St. Louis to 2½ games. It didn’t take long for the starting pitcher to continue to set new records on the mound. In the first inning, Misiorowski struck out catcher Iván Herrera on a 103-mph fastball. Misiorowski reached a top velocity of 103.4 mph while allowing one run, two hits, and one walk in seven innings. His ERA improved to 1.83.

Milwaukee took the lead for good by scoring three runs in the first inning off Matthew Liberatore, who entered the day with a 1.26 ERA in four career starts against the Brewers. The Brewers wouldn’t do any more damage against Liberatore (2-3), who had a career-high 10 strikeouts in five innings. Milwaukee added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings against Brycen Mautz, who was making his major league debut. Garrett Mitchell had an RBI single in the sixth, and Vaughn doubled home a run in the seventh. Despite only being in the league for less than a calendar year, Misiorowski now has the six fastest strikeout pitches by a starting pitcher since 2008. Two of them, 103.4 mph and 102.9 mph, have come during Monday’s game against the Cardinals.

The Milwaukee Bucks.
Darvin Ham, Patrick St. Andrews, and Joe Boylan are all expected to join recently hired Milwaukee Bucks head coach Taylor Jenkins’ staff for the 2026-27 season. Former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham will be remaining with the Bucks as an assistant, according to Eric Nehm and Sam Amick of The Athletic. Ham was also an assistant with the Bucks from 2018 to 2022 and returned in 2024 as Doc Rivers’ lead assistant. Ham grew his reputation in Milwaukee as former coach Mike Budenholzer’s top assistant and was part of the coaching staff that guided the Bucks to a title in 2021.

Ham and Jenkins worked together for five seasons in Atlanta before making the move to Milwaukee with Budenholzer for the 2018-19 season. St. Andrews, an NBA assistant coach for nine seasons, will be reunited with Jenkins in Milwaukee after working together multiple times throughout their coaching careers. Jenkins and St. Andrews first worked together on Budenholzer’s staff in Atlanta. After four years with the Hawks, both Jenkins and St. Andrews were a part of Budenholzer’s staff in Milwaukee. Jenkins left for Memphis after his one season in Milwaukee, but St. Andrews stayed with the Bucks through.
