Surprising Stuff

A severe storm went through the local area last Wednesday night.
The lightning show started around 10 p.m., and the sky was lit up with pinks and purples. The weather alerts started coming in around 10:30 p.m., warning of severe weather heading towards southeastern Wisconsin with heavy rains, winds up to 60 mph, cloud to ground lightning, and hail. At approximately 11:15 p.m., a funnel cloud was spotted over Pell Lake. The town there suffered some severe damage, with trees being uprooted and landing on garages, houses, and blocking roads. Debris was blown all over yards and streets. Most of Pell Lake was without power for a couple of days, as several power lines were down.  Lake Geneva was fortunate enough to have minimal damage, with only a few trees and branches blown down.

Damage in Pell Lake

The small town of Pell Lake bared the brunt of the strong storms that came thru Walworth County last week. Loss of power, broken limbs and trees pulled right out of the ground!

Good news for Riviera Beach.
The price of beach passes will remain the same. At last weeks Finance, License and Regulation meeting, Cindy Flower recommended raising the beach pass prices. However, Doug Skates, also on the committee, thought the beach should be free, like in most other communities. After some debate, the beach passes will remain $8 for a daily pass.
