Surprising Stuff
Veteran’s Park will be the first park in the area with a playground that caters to special needs children and adults. The Lake Geneva City Council meeting, on November 23 2015, is when approval was given and $15,000.00 was set aside from the reserve parks fund to start the project. This is not nearly enough, GSR x-file investigators have heard that the city will pitch in more once the building begins. The Lakeland school has the only playground in Walworth County adaptive to the ADA (American Disability Act). The biggest problem with this being the only Park for individuals with special needs is that when the school is closed in the summer, and other times use is restricted. One mother who was bothered by this started the ball rolling with and on-line petition to get this matter brought to the city and included on the agenda, and it worked. Plans and dates for the project to begin have not yet been confirmed or finalized.
Question?

Veteran’s Park: Why is it that parks all across the U.S. have these decaying symbols of aggressive military action set up to serve as examples to draw in people to have a good time? A gunship from Vietnam? What’s the message? Why is the message?
Barb, a pharmacist for over 8 years at the Lake Geneva Aurora Pharmacy makes a normally tedious and unexciting trip to the pharmacy a joy. She has a way of treating her clients like friends, also an ability to remember most of her customer’s names, which is very warming. It’s obvious she loves her job and the people in the community she serves. What about price? Same as Walgreens and Wal-Mart, for the most part, but there’s almost never a line and there’s free coffee right outside in the hall with a bunch of super comfortable easy chairs to lounge around in. Piggly Wiggly is just down the way for running to catch up on shopping errands, as well.
