AMER Vespa.
The scooters are back! Vespa Club of America (VCOA) is coming back to Lake Geneva from June 19-23 for scootering fun. VCOA holds the largest annual motor scooter rally in the United States. This Rally brings scooter enthusiasts from all over the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Asia, and Australia, resulting in 600-800 scooters roaming the streets of Lake Geneva. The VCOA enthusiasts love riding their scooters and take pride in the fact that scooters conserve fuel, as well as tread lightly on the road system, and reduce traffic congestion. However, traffic will likely be more congested while they are here. The VCOA is a nonprofit organization and is a society of people who enjoy riding scooters regardless of what kind they ride, Vespa or not.

Lake Geneva goes green, maybe?
At the last committee of the whole meeting on Monday, June 3, a resident stood up and suggested that Lake Geneva get with the times and help keep our planet clean and green. The idea of multiple garbage and recycling containers being placed around town, instead of the single cans already in use, was introduced. The city listened and the topic was brought up again at the Public Works meeting a week later. The possibility of a trial use of the multiple recycling garbage containers is in the works. The committee of the whole meeting is your chance to voice your opinion as well as any and all other concerns you may have, and it looks like the city is listening.
