The City of Lake Geneva is lucky to have such a great Harbormaster.
Steve Russell is doing a great job and has garnered many compliments from city officials on his well-thought-out and detail-orientated harbor master reports. Now that fall is here, the boats and other watercraft will need to be out of the water for the season, as piers will also be removed for winter preparation. The swim piers were the first to be removed on September 8th. The deadline for lessees to vacate all buoys, slips, and racks is October 15th. The beach had a lucrative season, earning the city a little over $550,000.00. This revenue was earned in its ninety-two days of paid operation.

The weather was perfect for beachgoers, with 73% of the ninety-two days were beautiful sunny beach days. The boat launch did not have as lucrative of a season as the beach, with less usage revenue. The CD3 boat cleaning machine is not in an ideal location, in the harbor master’s opinion but there seems to be no ready solution to that problem until the communities around the lake can get serious and dredge out the Starry Stone Wart.

The harbormaster is also in charge of making sure any repairs to city piers are noted planned and completed. The municipal pier received repairs recently, just before Labor Day, and the gas piers have ongoing repairs at this time. All in all, it was an extremely successful 2021 summer season.

The Bottle Shop’s biggest event of the season is upon us.
The Big Taste Gala is this Thursday, September 23rd, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy eight wine tasting stations each, with eight wines to sample while enjoying appetizers and food stations from the new Lake Life Market. The patio at the Bottle Shop will be transformed into an elegant and magical setting as live music is performed by Cole Brandt to bring a relaxing atmosphere for all to enjoy. Each person attending will also receive a free gift bag full of fun goodies. Tickets are $75 and can be reserved by calling 262-348-9463.
