THE BRIGHT SIDE

The Riviera Ballroom is newly remodeled.
It includes a gorgeous new chandelier and is bringing an increase of brides and grooms seeking Lake Geneva as their wedding destination. Lake Geneva has a lot to offer couples getting married from; breathtaking views, good food, a variety of lodging, and everything needed for the wedding of anyone’s dreams. This weekend, brides and grooms will have an opportunity to see the best Lake Geneva has to offer while enjoying riding aboard the historic Gage boats. This will take place on Sunday, September 26th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gage is hosting its Discover Lake Geneva Bridal Showcase.

Located at the docks behind the Riviera, brides, and grooms will be able to step aboard the Lake Geneva Cruise Line yachts. Step aboard six yachts decorated by top wedding professionals. Premiere vendors will be on hand to talk with brides and answer any questions or concerns that may come up. There will be over forty vendors, including caterers, florists, photographers, musicians, bridal wear experts, salon services, and much more.

The Never Say Never Playland project continues moving forward.
It is raising the $520,000 necessary to build an all-inclusive playground. This will include a fully accessible playground in Lake Geneva for children with disabilities. The City of Lake Geneva has provided $15,000 and a 13,000 square foot space in Veteran’s Park to the nonprofit for its playground. It will offer a safe and fun experience for kids and adults of all ages and mobility levels. The playground will have a woodland theme and components, such as swings with high backs and safety belts, a wheelchair-friendly swing and merry-go-round, ramps instead of chairs, a poured-in-place rubber foundation, and much more. Walworth County is one of only two counties in the state with a special needs school, so the need for an all-inclusive playground is definitely there.

Once the foundation has raised all the funds needed and all the components are purchased, it will take about 2,000 volunteers to build and complete the entire playground. The New Year’s Eve Gala at the Riviera ballroom is being held as a fundraiser for the Never Say Never Playland and tickets will be available in the near future. The foundation is looking for sponsors of pickets for the picket fence. Sponsors will be able to have an inscription of their choice (up to 22 characters long). Anyone interested in purchasing a picket or donating can go to http://www.neversayneverplayland.com.
