The blood drive.
Linn Fire & EMS will be hosting a blood drive on Friday, September 28th from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Every donor during the month of September will be entered to win Green Bay Packer tickets, along with a free child admission with the purchase of an adult admission to China Lights Panda-Mania at Boerner Botanical Gardens. Also, due to the great need for O- and O+ blood, any blood donated during September 21st -30th, from any O- and O+ donors over 18 years old, will receive a $20 Amazon e-gift card. This is one of the most eventful blood drives in the county, so come out and donate, save lives, and possibly leave with a gift. The blood drive will be held at the Town of Linn Fire & EMS building at N1457 Hillside Rd, Lake Geneva. Appointments are recommended, but not necessary. These rides are a great fall activity and out at the Dan Patch Stables, they offer a spook-tacular ride through beautiful property and woods. Dan Stables is located on Highway 50, just before the front entrance to Grand Geneva Resort. They will be starting their Sleepy Hollow Haunted Hayrides this Friday, September 28th, and the rides will continue every Friday and Saturday through October 27th. A Sunday hayride will be included on October 7th. The haunted hayrides run from 6 p.m. through midnight, with the earlier rides a little less spooky for the younger kids. Ticket prices are $15 for eleven years old and up, $8 for ages four through ten years old, and three and under are free.
The Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society is back at the newly renovated Abbey Marina.
This Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., September 29th and Sunday, September 30th, is the annual antique and classic boat show. Avid boaters are back to share the enjoyment, and all aspects of classic boating with more than one hundred boat owners expected to attend. All are welcome to come out and admire the history and heritage, along with the preservation and restoration of these beautiful boats. You don’t have to be a boat enthusiast or a member of the Blackhawk, or Antique and Classic Boat Society Chapter to enjoy the sights and sounds of these new and vintage boats on Geneva Lake. Wooden, fiberglass, and aluminum boats will all be on display, along with live music, great food, beverages, vendors set up around the newly renovated marina and beautiful Abbey Resort property. Every boater may not receive an award but they will receive the honor of being in the show and bragging rights. Everyone attending will have the opportunity to vote for a favorite boat. Pre-events will begin on Friday, September 28th.
