The Bright Side

The multiple lake community high-speed chases.
Some may have thought that the Geneva Lake area was the location for a Fast and Furious movie shoot recently. Last Thursday, August 23rd at approximately 1:45 p.m. a Williams Bay officer spotted a yellow Volkswagen Bug driving erratically, causing peril to the public and the driver. When the officer pursued, the vehicle’s speeds increased along with the danger and risk of injury to everyone. Due to the potential danger, the pursuit was terminated. The vehicle continued to drive at a high rate of speed through Lake Geneva and ended on the Southeast end of town at the intersection of Highway H and the 120 Bypass. The chase did not end well. The yellow Bug crashed into a silver minivan occupied by a mother and her two children. No one suffered serious injuries and the driver, twenty-year-old Alexandra Madden was arrested at the scene.

Accident Scene

Fair time.
Come out for six fun-filled days at the 169th annual Walworth County Fair beginning Wednesday, August 29th thru September 3rd.  You may ask yourself what makes this fair one of the largest and best county fairs in the state of Wisconsin?  It’s not really clear and really depends on who you ask.  Some will tell you it’s the fair food and rides, others say the grandstand performances, exhibits, and events, but most will tell you it is a family tradition of making memories that last a lifetime.  For more information on tickets, wristbands, dates and times of scheduled events go to www.walworthcountyfair.com.
