THE BRIGHT SIDE

The city public works department has been working away at the brush piles and limbs that are piled along the curbs of Lake Geneva.
Residents have been asked to stack downed limbs and yard waste parallel to the curb as soon as possible. The storm damage is extensive, and recovery is expected to take several weeks. If you are looking to get rid of debris, the city’s brush drop-off site at 1065 Carey Street is open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3;30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The city has also set up a storm response hotline for residents. If you have any issues that need attention, leave a message at 262-294-3170, and your issue will be directed to the best-suited department. Lake Geneva is one of many communities affected by the recent storm in Walworth County. Walworth County’s 211 line is being used to document damage. If you have damage, please call and report the extent of the damage. 211 can also help connect you with services including temporary shelter, food, cleanup, and disaster recovery services.
