The Bright Side
The Riviera Complex has recently been occupying a lot of the city’s time and money.
The building is in much need of some reparative TLC, and that’s just what it’s going to be getting. The roof and windows are scheduled for replacement in February 2020. The next issue to be addressed is the interior, mainly on the first floor. MSI Engineering has been going back and forth with the piers, harbor, and lakefront committee presenting different possible directions that could be taken. The idea of opening up and adding a lot of natural light to the current dark tunnel that exists is pleasing to most. Tonight, November 20, 2019, at 6 p.m. Lake Geneva’s Piers, Harbor, and Lakefront Committee will meet and look over more ideas and then continue discussing the future of this historic structure.
The Illumination Ceremony at Grand Geneva is on Sunday, November 24th!
This ceremony kicks off the Grand Geneva’s wonderful six-week-long “Christmas in the Country Celebration“. The fun starts at 4:30 p.m. this Sunday with family fun activities, raffles, Christmas decorations everywhere, gingerbread house competition and voting, a visit from Santa, cookies and hot cider, and flipping on the switch that operates the over two million lights around Grand Geneva. And the event does not end there, as a dazzling firework display will wrap up the night. Grand Geneva lives up to its name when it comes to most things, but especially during the holiday season.
The Candle Mercantile will be celebrating deer hunter’s “Widow Weekend” with some special events.
