The Bright Side

Delavan steps it up.
The Geneva Shore Report picked up a rumor about new construction in Delavan that may become fact in the very near future. Meijer could be coming to Delavan. The company was on the Delavan Planning commission agenda Monday, September 10, 2018, and it was unanimously approved. Meijer will have their project on Delavan City Council meeting agenda the following week. If all is approved, over the course of the next few weeks, plans could be in the works for a new Meijer store to begin building next to the massive new Mills Fleet Farm very soon.

The old dog track property in Delavan has sat vacant for years. Meijer’s new plan includes a gas station, convenience store, and car wash. The Meijer Company is the latest to try and build a supercenter, which typically includes a supermarket section, general merchandise, a fast food and/or coffee shop, possibly a hair and nail salon, and most likely a gas station. Fleet Farm is supposedly bringing over two hundred jobs to the area, and the Meijer store might anticipate the same result for the area. This isn’t the only possible building in the Delavan area, however, as right down the street on Wright Street, Kwik Trip was also approved at the plan commission meeting. It looks like Delavan is bursting all over the Lake Geneva area with a lot of excitement and energy.
