THE BRIGHT SIDE
Get your walking shoes on and explore Lake Geneva.
With fall here, walking tours are back and are all about the mysteries, legends, myths, and a few ghost stories that are tied to this beautiful city. This Saturday, October 2nd, the “Sordid and Scandalous” walking tour of Lake Geneva will begin at 11 a.m. and includes a one-and-a-half-mile walk, lasting about ninety minutes through the Historic Maple District neighborhoods. This tour will cover some of Lake Geneva’s ties to prohibition gangsters, the sea serpent, UFOs, and the Winterfest mess from 2015. The tour departs from the Riviera Complex and the cost is $15.00. For more information go to blackpointe.wisconsinhistory.org.
The other very popular walking tour: “Lake Geneva Ghost Walk” is back. It started last weekend and will continue through Halloween. Every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., the tour departs from Seminary Park. This tour is very festive for the season and includes real ghost stories (well?), paranormal experiences, Native American legends, and much more. Lake Geneva is full of haunted history and this tour reveals it. The creator of the Lake Geneva Ghost Walk has spent countless hours researching the history and continues to find new never before shared stories. The cost of the Ghost Walk is $25.00.
