The Bright Side
Complimentary Thanksgiving Dinner:
Thanksgiving is generally a time when one appreciates getting together with friends, and family for the traditional Thanksgiving feast of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and gravy. It is easy to get caught up in the celebration and forget that there are those out in the world alone, shut in, or who can’t afford to have a big dinner, or even any dinner at all.
This year Friends of the Parks will be hosting a Community Thanksgiving Dinner with Friends. As it has done in the past, Friends of the Parks will be providing a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner. The celebration is to be held on November 23rd, from 11am-3pm, at the community building in Town Park, just off Highway 50 and South Shore Drive in the Town of Delavan. Because Friends of the Parks and the Village of Delavan believe no one should celebrate alone, not a soul will be turned away. Not one.
Boy Scout Troop #3281, Cub Scout pack #327, and the Venturing Crew 2010 will be available for deliveries to anyone that is immobile, shut in, or unable to attend. Many of you may remember this complimentary dinner at the Elks Thanksgiving Dinner. This event will be the same traditional dinner and location as the Elks used to put on, but with new hosts. Come out and enjoy this opportunity to gather with family, friends, and neighbors for great social conversation and a terrific turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
