LITTLE GEMS

Why is Dunn Lumber so wonderful while Home Depot and Lowes just suck?
Maybe because they have to be.  They’re all we have; the angel caught between the devil out west and then the one on the North side of Lake Geneva.  License plate readers in their parking lots to see if they can run your car, then your identity, and then maybe find they don’t want your business?  Lowe’s and Home Depot both participate in that 1984 nightmare scenario predicted to be coming so long ago.

Dunn Lumber people don’t do that.  Dunn Lumber people don’t lock up all their tools and machines and then make a guard stand over you, the potential buying customer, and make you feel like a criminal even in doing nothing but looking and asking.  And guess what?  Their prices are better, and they don’t sell ‘naked’ tools, the new parlance for selling you a battery-powered tool with no battery inside the box?

And everyone inside the store is so damned nice and helpful!  Why is that?

There are approximately 5,600 Wendy’s stores in the United States and another 600 in Canada.
Since January 1st, Wendy’s has closed 174 stores across the USA and apparently is set to close another 300.  One of the stores is Wendy’s in Delavan, which has abruptly closed. Monday, there were signs on the doors stating that the store would be closed permanently. The workers had no warning, and no reason has been given. Many locals are not happy about this. Wendy’s was a favorite for many.

This year’s Fourth of July Children’s Parade is expected to be extra special this year as this family favorite Fourth of July tradition celebrates America’s 250th Birthday.
This very fun parade is all about the red, white, and blue. The kids, along with their parents, will be dressed in their patriotic colors. There is no registration needed; just show up and get ready to march or ride in this patriotic fun parade. Many will decorate wagons, bikes, scooters, and other modes of transportation; of course, it will all be decorated and themed for the Fourth of July.

The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Sage Street at Eastview School and travel west on Dodge Street, north on Center Street, and west on Henry Street. The parade ends at the American Legion Hall. The event concludes with its traditional July Fourth ceremony. This is a great way to participate in the holiday and encourage kids to be a part of it. This day is all about red, white, and blue, and love for the great USA.
