Wisconsin’s governor is not in favor of tolling to raise highway money tax.
This is one of the reasons that this governor is in office.  For one thing, the politicians around the country might go back to not stealing the highway taxes and putting that money into other projects and the general revenue fund!  Going against the advances of electric vehicles, and their natural advantages over the reciprocating engine is dumb science.  Governor Evers needs to stick to his guns and keep on doing what he is doing in this area.

Lake Geneva’s ten-year update on the comprehensive plan is in the works and the public is invited to help shape the future of Lake Geneva.
The city is offering a few different meeting times to hold workshops and give the community opportunities to engage in the planning process, identify issues and opportunities for Lake Geneva, discuss priorities for their neighborhoods, and share visions for the land. The first of the neighborhood workshops will be next week July 30th and 31st at Badger High School, in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. The third workshop is scheduled for August 7th, at 6 p.m. in Lake Geneva City Hall.

The quiet, but intensely high-class, gala for the support of the Water Safety Patrol was held last Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Rockefeller was the bell of the ball, arriving from her 30-acre spread across the lake (first row, of course, none of that second-row stuff for that family) aboard one of the Water Safety Patrol boats with her husband happily accompanying her. Ted Panko remains the head of the Water Safety Patrol, and he was there to make sure that the GSR (we were surprised as hell that anyone from the paper was invited) made no videos of the guests because the Moore’s, who own the home, didn’t want any of the aristocratic supporters of the Water Safety Patrol to “have their faces spread all over Facebook.” The GSR cameraman shot a video anyway, and that did not go down well. After the video reached only about six thousand people around the lake, Mr. Panko called to ask that it be removed. That request was honored, once it became evident from viewing the video why most of the people attending did not want their faces spread all over Facebook.

The Geneva Shore Report is a big supporter of the Water Safety Patrol and is still thankful that the patrol wedged its way in and saved Mr. Malmin’s boat a few weeks ago when the police force of the lake’s surface demanded that it be abandoned. The patrol’s young people do an extraordinary job taking care of the lake. Tickets to the event ran at $375.00 each.
