Geneva Java Coffee Shop. Coffee…hell!
The place has a whole lot more than that. Try a good-sized cup of guaranteed 100% Kona coffee (from either Lion or Mountain Thunder, expressed in from Hawaii weekly) for $2.75, and the Sunday Brunch special. That’s a two (real farm!) egg omelet cooked without brown or black edges, two kinds of cheese, tomatoes, with spiced black beans dumped on top, all served on a fresh (really fresh) brat bun for $6.00. Oh, forgot to mention the thick rail of kielbasa sausage running down the middle of the rolled omelet, and generous side bowl of chopped up, ice cold watermelon. With tax, that’s about nine bucks. Try ordering something like that anywhere else and they’ll smile while showing you through the door to their back alley. Is there any wonder that the Geneva Java is becoming less a coffee shop than a community haven for eating, drinking and getting ready to go back “out there”? The Peterson family owns and operates the place. The three of them are also worth stopping by to meet. And then there’s that sliced pork sandwich, served as thick as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bicep, but without the accent! Weightwatchers has put the GJ on its black list. If you’d rather buy Weightwatcher frozen stuff at The Pig, or Sentry, then the GJ is not for you. It’s located at 252 Center Street, with a whole city parking lot just behind the building.

Farm Technology Days.
The huge farm technology event that took place just outside Zenda in the Town of Linn didn’t measure up to expectations. The expected attendance was for twenty thousand spectators each day, for three days. That didn’t happen. What went wrong? How about an intense heat wave that swept in for all three days, coupled with high humidity? How about the fact that biting flies were everywhere, taking to the bark strewn fields like bees to honey? Thirty thousand attendees did show up, at six bucks a person. The Geneva Shore Report mistakenly reported that the event was free, but in reality it was not. The Geneva Shore Report apologizes, and the guilty reporters will be fired, or sent on location to Namibia. The authority who reported the failure in performance was Jim Stowell, executive chair for the Farm Tech Committee. He felt that, overall, the event was a great success, especially in view of the heat ‘emergency’ which caused the under-attendance.

The Lake Geneva Dog Beach (otherwise known as dog heaven):
So many people who own dogs don’t know it’s there. Go to the library in Lake Geneva, located right on Main Street across the street from @properties. Face west and start walking. When you come to the end of the park turn down toward the lake. You will walk smack onto the dog beach sand, which adjoins the kayak portage, and just beyond are located some of the many boats slips packed in down there. The dogs are let go to frolic in the water and run up and down the sand. It’s a wonderful sight to behold, even if you go down there without a dog, just to sit and watch.

The dog beach in Lake Geneva. What a wonderful place to take your dog and let it run and swim free. It’s also a lot of fun to go there and watch

Milwaukee Flyboard Company Lake Geneva

Milwaukee Flyboard Company is back on Geneva Lake and is parked at Elmer’s Pier at the Riviera. So if you want to get up there in the air over the water try flyboarding. It takes a little while to master, like riding a bike, but when you do it’s a riot!. Nick the owner is a great guy and a great instructor. (414)-322-8021.
