Latest tourism commission meeting.
Lake Geneva Mayor Klein, who is also chair of the Riviera Restoration Ad Hoc Committee, has applied for a grant from the Tourism Commission, in order to help plan Riviera events. The first of the events would be an open house to celebrate the newly renovated Riviera complex and its season-opening.  That meeting harkens back to a time when such a celebration was held every year, to great success. Following that event will be a grand New Year’s Eve party to be held in the refurbished Grand Ballroom. The grant request for these included a ‘history wall’ and an events office. The tourism meeting ran out of time and had to save this application consideration for its next meeting, however. Some of the commission members were a bit overwhelmed at the many moving parts of the application, however, some were intrigued at the possibility of utilizing the Riviera for several grand events.
