Our Place

Foxconn, that pesky giant con-artist of an operation from Asia is still here, and fomenting more trouble.
That whole operation went through Pennsylvania like crap through a goose years ago, promising a town in Pennsylvania the world, claiming free property and all sorts of benefits, with a value exceeding fifty million dollars, and then they picked up and left the state, leaving the half-developed property and broken promises behind.

Sound familiar?

How about all the people who moved to that town to get the promised jobs?  How about those who had property nearby who now have unfinished buildings and foundations left to rot nearby?  How about the money?  Wisconsin, with the help of its representatives, senators, and governor of the time, begged Foxconn to come to Wisconsin and con this state.  So, they did.  Go drive down along the edge of Racine and Kenosha to see the result of our elected officials’ rank, history-ignoring, stupidity.

Or was it just that, the stupidity?

Was it not also a bit of the fact that Racine and Kenosha are developed and heavily populated communities and those are not the republican strongholds of the state?  Foxconn didn’t bend this area of Southern Wisconsin over a log, that was the state’s own leadership.  Foxconn just did the rest of the job once the communities so buffaloed were prepped, lubricated, and ready.  Foxconn, just days ago, decided that instead of building big-screen televisions and monitors it would cut back and build small televisions and monitors. Out went that plan and in came (wait for it!) robotic coffee makers.  Today, as you read this, that idea, and the plans for it, have also been shelved.  The vicious hyena-like band of smallish, but very damaging creatures, who operate this ‘company,’ are now considering manufacturing butterfly nets, which will no doubt be used to scoop Wisconsin’s next arriving flock of lemming-like legislators out of the air, following their election, and squeeze them for even more idiotic contributions.
