Kimberly Yopp is the Hotel Manager at the Geneva Inn.
She is a worldly genius when it comes to running a hotel, and the crisp but super-friendly attitude of her front desk people proves that. The GSR puts its traveling people up at the Geneva Inn. They have been just terrific there, with Kimberly leading the way, in spite of the GSR’s support of causes opposed to further Geneva Inn development. That’s a class act of a hotel and Kimberly is a wonderful representative of that.
Dunkin’ Donuts, it’s coming again.
Several months ago, Neil, owner of the Mobil gas station in Delavan, closed on the property at 190 East Main Street, Lake Geneva, WI, across from Hillmoor, and next to the Interstate Insurance building. In January, at the last minute, Neil tabled his conditional use plans request for a Dunkin´ Donuts Shop, convenient store, and gas station. This coming Monday, on May 21st at the next planning commission meeting, Neil is once again scheduled to present his plans to the plan commission. This would be the tenth gas station in Lake Geneva. The GSR X-file investigators spoke with many residents who seem to welcome the idea of a Dunkin´ Donuts Shop, but are not thrilled about another gas station. The heart-warming and welcoming citizens of Lake Geneva do not seem to welcome the location of this station. Some citizens stated that it will not be aesthetically pleasing to residents who live nearby, or to tourists entering into the city limits off of HWY 12, or from the East on HWY 50.
One resident said, “I can’t speak for every resident, but I think Lake Geneva has many empty storefronts and spaces that a Dunkin Donuts would fit into quite nicely, for example; near Starbucks or between Noodles & Company, and Qdoba just to mention two.” The GSR understands and encourages Lake Geneva citizens and residents to attend the local government official meetings and remember that with every decision made there is always a group of people who will be dissatisfied with the outcome…
