LITTLE  GEMS

The Riviera Ad Hoc committee has voted unanimously to come to an end.
June’s meeting will be their last monthly meeting as a group. The committee was formed to recommend renovation projects for the Riviera to the city council. Those renovations are coming to an end this month and the ad hoc committee no longer serves a purpose. The committee was made up of thirteen members, including local historians, city officials, business owners, and residents. Mayor Charlene Klein chaired the committee and shared the fact that the committee has accomplished its goal of assisting with the Riviera renovation project and no longer needs to meet.

Members of the ad hoc committee will serve as tour guides during the open house tours at the Riviera on July 15th, which is also part of ‘Lake Geneva Day’ and will include free parking all day for residents. One of the committee members suggested forming Friends of the Riviera group to either host events to raise money for the building or to sponsor groups to perform at the Riviera. The group would focus more on the operational aspect than the renovation aspect. The focus would be on keeping the building busy and functional. The fountain is back on and is a beautiful reminder that the renovation construction is coming to an end.

The Spring Food Truck Festival is taking place in downtown Elkhorn.
The festival will be held Saturday, May 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Elkhorn at Veterans Park. Over twenty different food trucks will line the streets and an entire block will be filled with craft and commercial vendors. Trucks will offer everything from dessert, sandwiches, and snacks. Attendees can also enjoy live music and activities for all ages.
