The Bright Side

The Executive Chef at the Grandview Restaurant in the Geneva Inn, Abel Rosas, is competing in an international contest for the title of ‘Favorite Chef’.
Chefs from around the world are invited to compete in an online competition for Bon Appetit Magazine, and Able is one of the lucky contestants selected to compete. Abel has been with the Grandview Restaurant for four years, and many have witnessed his passion and drive as a chef. His food is delicious, fresh, and unique, which is a difficult combination to find in a chef. Chef Able developed his love for cooking by watching his grandmother in the kitchen where she would make fresh tortillas. If Chef Abel wins the title of ‘Favorite Chef,’ he’ll get recognition in one of the largest cooking publications in the world, and a cash prize of $50,000. If he wins, he has promised to donate half the prize money to local pantries and medical clinics to help hungry families and those without health insurance. Please help Chef Abel and vote at:

BP Station on Pellar Road, on the east side of Lake Geneva off Highway 50.
The station has received approval from the plan commission to raze and rebuild, and it was up to the city council to give final approval. The BP Station is planning on starting work as soon as weather permits, or by this spring at the latest. The idea is to be open before Lake Geneva’s busy season begins. The property’s blueprint of the building will change, with added square footage, and the elimination of the car wash. The station will continue to have a convenience store, gas pumps, and Subway. The patrons of this BP are looking forward to a more spacious inside, with room to comfortably sit back and enjoy a coffee or a subway sandwich. The employees are happy about the changes, and the sooner the work starts the better as they have grown out of the limited space. The plan commission had to look over the request to begin working very closely as Highway 50 is in need of some work, and the possible expansion of the highway may be in the future, but no one wanted to hinder that project. The Lake Geneva City Council approved the rebuilding of the BP on Monday night.
